The Genesis Medallion is a piece of jewellery created to commemorate the birth of a child and to become a lifelong heirloom.
It is not a toy.
Because the product may be gifted to newborns and young children, particular care must be taken when using the medallion and chain.
Important Safety Information
Never leave a baby or young child wearing the necklace unattended.
Jewellery containing a chain can present strangulation, entanglement and choking hazards.
The necklace should:
- Never be left on a baby or young child without direct adult supervision.
- Be removed during sleep.
- Be removed during unsupervised periods.
- Be kept away from children when not being worn.
- Be inspected regularly for signs of damage or wear.
We recommend that the necklace is worn only when appropriate and under responsible adult supervision.
Age & Use
The Genesis Medallion is designed as a birth and family heirloom.
Although it may be gifted at birth, we recommend that parents and guardians carefully consider when it is appropriate for a child to wear the necklace.
For younger children, the medallion may be better treated primarily as a keepsake until the child is old enough for supervised jewellery use.
Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding when and how the jewellery should be worn.

Before each use, check:

- Clasp
- Connecting loop
- Medallion
- Any visible joins or components
Do not allow the jewellery to be worn if any part appears loose, damaged or broken.

General Jewellery Care
Your Heir & Stone jewellery is designed to be enjoyed and preserved for generations.
To help maintain its appearance:
Avoid prolonged exposure to:
- Perfume
- Cosmetics
- Hairspray
- Chlorine
- Cleaning chemicals
- Abrasive substances
Although precious metals can tolerate normal contact with water, we recommend removing jewellery before bathing, swimming or using chemicals wherever practical.
Silver
Sterling silver can naturally develop tarnishing or surface discolouration over time.
This is normal and does not mean the jewellery is damaged.
Store silver in a clean, dry environment and use an appropriate jewellery polishing cloth when necessary.
Gold
Our gold jewellery is made from solid gold alloys.
Gold is durable but can still scratch or become marked through everyday wear.
Higher-carat gold is generally softer than lower-carat gold, so additional care should be taken with 14k and particularly 18k gold.
Avoid exposing your jewellery to unnecessary impacts, abrasion or harsh chemicals.
Engraving
Engraving is intended to be a permanent part of your heirloom.
However, engraving can become less visually distinct over many years through normal wear, polishing and refinishing.
This is part of the natural ageing of a piece that is intended to be lived with and eventually passed down.

Caring for Your Heirloom
